Experience Alt Guitar Summit Camp
Get ready for another unforgettable summer. A new lineup of extraordinary teachers will join us in the stunning 100-acre wilderness retreat that Music Masters has lovingly shaped over the past two decades. The In-Person Alternative Guitar Summit Camp returns August 17–21, 2026 at Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY, an inspiring setting where creativity thrives and music comes alive.
Welcome to year nine of the most forward-thinking, open-hearted guitar camp on the planet.
This summer brings another remarkable roster of teachers to our 100-acre wilderness retreat, a place Music Masters has lovingly shaped for more than twenty years.
Returning this year are two of our core artists, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Gilad Hekselman, both internationally recognized for their inventive improvisation and visionary guitar work. Anthony Pirog also rejoins us, known for his explosive playing with The Messthetics and for a wide range of creative projects.
We are also thrilled to welcome several inspiring new faculty members:
Matteo Mancuso, a rising virtuoso whose speed, precision, and soaring melodic sense have earned praise from across the globe. Steve Vai himself has said that the evolution of guitar is safe in the hands of players like Matteo.
Ben Monder, a singular voice in modern guitar, returns to share his deep harmonic language and astonishing multi-voice counterpoint. His influence and technical imagination are unmatched.
Cecil Alexander, one of today’s most celebrated young jazz guitarists, brings his mastery of bebop lineage and contemporary phrasing, following his acclaimed debut on Kurt Rosenwinkel’s Heartcore label.
Oz Noy joins us with his signature blend of jazz, funk, and fearless improvisation. His long-running Bitter End residency has become one of New York’s most vital guitar hangouts.
Kaki King rounds out our new guests with her groundbreaking approach to guitar, combining tapping techniques, multimedia performance, and emotionally charged soundscapes. As Rolling Stone wrote, she is “a genre unto herself.”
Our rhythm section this year features the return of Jerome Harris on bass and the brilliant Allison Miller on drums, both deeply versatile musicians and inspiring teachers.
As always, there will be multiple jam spaces available each night, and I will be on site teaching, producing, and supporting you throughout the week. Beginning in January we will host monthly Zoom sessions for anyone who wants to meet fellow campers and start exploring the many learning paths ahead.
I can’t wait to see you there.
